dehydrated dry skin
We have been running our free skin test for a little less than a year and we have realized that many think they know their skin type, but they don't. 80% of cases believe that their skin is dry, but in reality it is dehydrated.
What is the difference and why is it important?
In the first place, because whether you are right in what products you use in your day to day life depends on your TRUE skin type, otherwise we can worsen and destabilize it (blackheads, bumps, fat, peeling, sensitivity).
Secondly, because the texture of the product (gel, cream, oil-free cream, serum, …) is extremely important for your skin type to feel comfortable. If the product is too thick for your skin type, it will feel and look greasy (and can even cause more acne), if the product is too thin for your skin type, you can end up feeling tight, dry and it will look dry and off.
Skin types are based on the amount of OIL they produce.
There are 4 different skin types:
1. DRY SKIN: dry skin is one that does not produce enough oil. Your skin feels tight throughout the day and you can see flaking and lack of luminosity. The pores are barely visible and there are no blackheads. (10% of the population).
SOLUTION FOR DRY SKIN: choose products that contain oils to compensate for the lack of natural oils in the skin.
2. NORMAL SKIN: normal skin produces the right amount of oil, not too much and not too little. It's not super shiny at the end of the day, nor is it dry or tight, it's just perfect. The pores are normal and the blackheads are usually very small, if any. (10% of the population).
SOLUTION FOR NORMAL SKIN: keep skin healthy and with healthy amounts of oils.
3. COMBINATION SKIN: by definition, combination skin produce a different amount of fat on the zone T Y in the cheeks. There are different types of combination skin. The T area can be fat and the cheeks normal, the zone T can be fat and the cheeks droughts. In general, the T-zone produces more fat than other parts of the face and is bright at the end of the day. SOLUTION FOR COMBINATION SKIN: no Add oils additional through skin care products. Search products sin oils Y sin silicones to moisturize the skin.
4. OILY SKIN: oily skin produces excess of fat throughout the body. can be very sparkly a few hours after washing it in the morning. The couples dilated, the points blacks and oiliness are characteristics of oily skin. (10% of the population).
SOLUTION FOR OILY SKIN: Avoid products based on oil. Search products without oil Y silicone free to moisturize the skin.
All these types of skin (dry, normal, mixed, oily) should differentiate from skin DEHYDRATED, is lacks of WATER O HYDRATION. Although it is true that all skin types (dry, normal, combination, oily) can be dehydrated (lack of water)"
As norma general, all the world experience some level of dehydrationregardless of your skin type.
The problem arises when people with skin mixed/fat with they clean the skin, the feel tight Y believe that is dry. So they turn to products labeled "dry skin" (meaning they contain added oils to compensate for the dry skin condition), and adding more oils to their skin causes shine and breakouts. Their skin mixed no it is dry, it's just dehydrated, so that needs to HYDRATION, extra water, NO extra oils.
