The seasons of the year and your diet. They are more related than you think!

Your body is asking you for changes! The cold is coming and that leads us to wrap up more, and to eat foods that increase our body temperature! Stay and discover what foods you should eat in each season of the year to keep your body healthy.

It is very important that our diet is in accordance with the season of the year in which we are, so that the body temperature of our body always remains stable .

Yes, you heard right! Each season of the year has its own seasonal food products . Have you ever noticed that in the supermarket many times there is not the product you are looking for? Well this is why, friend! In autumn and winter , foods high in vitamins and proteins predominate (such as citrus fruits, for example), while in spring and summer you will find mainly fresh and juicy foods that provide you with the necessary energy.

      • WINTER: although it is hard for you to believe it, it is a lie that you have to consume more fat to deal with the drop in temperature of our body. Our metabolism remains the same, and although it is much colder in these months, we must keep our diet as healthy and balanced as possible. Try eating foods like cauliflower , leeks , broccoli , spinach , endives , different legumes , artichokes , pumpkin , lettuce , escarole , kiwi , tangerine , orange or grapefruit . All these products, as I have mentioned before, are rich in vitamins and proteins , which are the necessary properties to protect us from the cold.
      • SPRING: How about you try eating foods like potatoes, garlic, asparagus, cherries, raspberries, strawberries, bananas, watermelon, melon, or pineapple ? These foods are perfect to cool you down on days when it starts to get hot.
      • SUMMER: how important it is to keep the body hydrated and cool on days when the sun increases our body temperature! Don't you think? For this reason, we usually consume lighter meals that are full of liquids or rich in water. Cucumber , tomato , zucchini , carrot , onion , melon , pineapple , watermelon and pear are the ideal products this season. My mouth is watering just thinking about it!



       
    • AUTUMN: in autumn we not only return to the routine, but the daylight hours decrease and our skin still needs vitamins to stay healthy. Therefore, eat eggplant , pumpkin , chestnuts , red and white legumes , carrots , chard , leeks , spinach , walnuts , almonds , figs , apples , mushrooms , cauliflower or quince . Also, add citrus products to your diet such as tangerines , grapefruit or oranges , which will provide you with the necessary vitamin C so that you do not catch a bad cold at this time of year.
